I brought my 98 in to get the harmonic balancer replaced today and on the way home I am seeing Service ride control message and and have the C1780 that I cannot clear.
I read that there is a sensor/wire in the EBCM that may be broken, most commonly during cam installation or in my case where the steering rack and other lines had to be moved to access the harmonic balancer.
C1780 is Loss of Steering Position Signal under 38 Real Time Dampening.
Anyone else have this before?

I got the car on jackstands and the connectors that I could see seemed to be in place. I am suspecting that there's something not plugged in but I will have to bring it back to the shop as I only have so much wiggle room without a lift.
On a related note, since c1780 seems to be related to receiving input from the f45 shocks, I plan on deleting f45 once I convert to c6z shocks. Would I still be getting this error if f45 is deleted?

I wonder if they didn't plug up the sensor on the steering rack?
That is my suspicion as that is one I can't see with my craptastic limited room under the jacks. I've left the owner a message so I'm gonna wait for his call tomorrow. I'm still curious about what impact deleting f45 would have on this code.
