Default Targa top leak?

I have a 02 coupe, and around the seal on targa top is leaking, I hardly ever take my vette out when it is raining, it also does it when I wash it of course, how do I go about replacing it?

You may want to try adjusting the window tip-in first. PM me your e-mail address and I can send you a bunch of Word files that discuss water leaks/wind noise/top adjustments on the C5.

If possible I would like the word files as well. I also have been searching for the window weatherstripping, possible an image or something with each seal and part number.

Thank you

If after the tip-in adjustment you ultimately decide you need replacement seals you'll want to get OEM replacements. Do not go for the aftermarket replacements. The aftermarket targa seals are not of the same quality and thickness of the OEM pieces and many have seen more leaks after replacing with the aftermarket units.

Be ready for a sticker shock though. Even when you can actually find the OEM replacements in stock it takes around $1,300-$1,500 to replace all the seals on the targa, including the halo and accompanying seals.

If you've had the top off, make sure the horizontal seal on the top and the vertical seal on the halo overlap each other. You probably already know that though. A couple of my friends were going to replace theirs until I showed them that. I agree about getting new GM seals also.

Hi Vetteman Jack. By any chance could I please get a copy? I've lowered the striker latches on the front. It helped a little, but I still have some leaking. Looking for additional ideas. Thanks!
