Default Engine Bolt Hole Question

What goes in this hole in a 2004 coupe? It is just forward of the forward most driver side valley cover bolt. I've seen pictures of older LS1s where it is plugged.

I went out and looked at my '02 and there is no hole there.
The valley cover on yours looks like a LS6 one. Is that the original engine?
It looks like there is evidence of something having been bolted in that area.

Thanks for looking. I believe all 04s have the ls6 intake and valley cover but I don't know how much else they share. The engine was stock when I bought it 8 years ago. I'm trying to chase down an oil leak. I thought it was the oil pressure sensor but I was wrong.

Yeah, the OPS is at the rear of the engine.

That is behind the water pump and steam pipe Jack.

It looks like something was recently removed from that area. It is cleaner.

Right, I have a slow leak that is first seen from the rear and I saw some sludge back by the sensor so thought that was it but once I got the intake off the sensor was not leaking. There is some sludge in the front as seen in the picture, a little between the valve cover/valley cover side areas, and some near the back. I've cleaned everything up now, replaced the intake gaskets, valley cover gasket, and oil pressure sensor (since I had already bought one) and when I was looking at a couple of pictures I had taken I realized I didn't remember what had come out of that hole, if anything. I have 135k miles and have had a very very small oil leak that I've never been able to nail down in the last year or so. Hopefully now that everything is clean it will be easier to locate the source if it is still leaking.

I'm currently on pause because I am an idiot and went to tighten the first tiny intake manifold bolt to 44 ft lb instead of in lb and it popped. Got it out but waiting for the parts dept to open on Tue to get a replacement.

Unfortunately I can't remember if I wiped around the hole in question before taking the picture. I think I did.

Here's a few more pictures since everything is more fun with pictures

I had a chance to take a look at it today and it appears to be a tooling hole. It's not threaded, it goes nowhere, and it's about 3/8" deep.
