Soon to be first time C5 owner, questions about a wheel set
As some of you may know I'm deep into the restoration on my '72 coupe...but to even my surprise I will be buying a 2004 coupe next Thursday as my new DD. 6 speed, 44k miles, one owner. Anyway the immediate thing I'm going to do to the car is replace the wheels. The stock C5 ones don't do it for me. I love the C6 ZR1 wheels but don't know much about their fitment/offset/need for spacers etc onto the C5. All of my current corvette knowledge is of one that's 45 years old, lol. So I'll be buying a reproduction set from eckler's or one of the other big vette parts places. I would love to run 19s/20s but will do 18s/19s if they fit better. School me...
Thanks,
-Matt

Real C6 wheels need spacers at the rear - the backspace is significantly different from a C5. And real ZR1 wheels are 19/20's.
I am running 18/19 ZR1 replica wheels. with C5 backspacing. Got them as a package from Tire Rack along with new tires and new TPMS sensors. They look right, but were not at all expensive.
Just checked that out, you must've got the version with the black accents. Not at all a bad deal at $2k including tires... can you post a pic of your car so I can see what they look like on it? Can't find one with them on google

No accents on mine - they are basically silver. Bought them maybe 5 years back. They were described as "Sport Muscle ZR Bright Satin". TR seems to still show the same wheel. Bad pic, taken just after I put the wheels on, but the only one I have:
BTW, car has been lowered maybe an inch since then, just enough to remove some of the "air" over the wheels.
