Ok i've owned my 2000 Torch Red C5 for a month now. Will post pictures when I figure out how. I ordered a cover, cup holder and Chadwick's. My wife couldn't believe the cost. Told her I've got to speed money on it, like her to keep it looking good. Didn't go over to good.
A couple things I've notice is every time I drive it, I have to readjust the mirrors, is this normal? I'm going to have to get the 1st to 4th shift bypass. I don't know if the steering wheel lock has been taken care of.
I belive the mirrors and seat have a memory function so it could be that whenever you drive it it's going back to the default memory. Set everything the way you want it and then set the memory to keep that position
If you have an owners manual give it a good read cover to cover. It will address just about all questions regarding the operation and care of your C5. If you didn't get a manual with your car you should pick one up as soon as possible. Good luck with your new baby!

That is most likely the cause of the mirrors moving.
The memory function is the number 1 and 2 buttons on the driver's door. You should have two keys and two FOBs. With everything set as you want you depress whichever setting you want to save, 1 or 2, and each time either that particular key is used or that setting is hit it's settings will be retrieved. What I usually do is set my #2 setting for HVAC (that's stored also) settings so all I have to do is hit that once and my A/C kicks on exactly where I want it.
You can check for column lock very easily. Does your steering wheel lock with key off? If it does then you do not have the column lock recall performed and will need to confirm presence of an aftermarket CLB (column lock bypass) and probably would be wise to carry a 12v column unlocker in your car. If it doesn't lock, then recall has been performed and/or smaller lock plate is present and you only need to confirm presence of a CLB.

Here is the 2000 owner's manual in case you don't have it:

Congrats on your C5 purchase! I hate the 1-4 shift it's so stupid! What I do is I try to watch when the light pops up and goes away, what else I do is I get it up to a certain rpm then I drop it into 2nd. There are cheaper ways to bypass it without spending money, so that works with me
