Default Knock Sensor, again, help!

Ok, I got the dreaded P0332 Knock sensor 2 circuit low (bank 2), again after I changed both sensors, the wiring harness and the gaskets (of course). The error went away for about a month and then yesterday it came back twice. It may be indicating that the PCM/ECM is not buffering the voltage to the 5volt level? It seems intermittent but there seems to be chatter in first gear at rev up. Dang I wasn't expecting to be doing this, I just wanted a reliable good ride. Maybe I should have just bought an old Jaguar, I hear they never have problems.

Knock sensor codes can be set from several problems, the most common are bad sensor, not properly torqued, over torqued causing grounding problems, bad gas, and short in wiring harness. Also the Code will be set on the second problem with the O2 reporting. More than likely it will also pull timing and affect mileage. Did you use Denso or AC sensors, many of the others are known to cause problems tho the Denso and AC are sometime defective.

ACDelco sensors and they were torqued to spec, as well as the dam was done for both. I didn't want to have to get in there again. Especially since the '04 only has 24K on it. I think I will give the shop a call and see if there is a flash for the cards that may have taken this into account.

Could also be a pinched wire on the harness. Very easy to pinch the wires against a bolt head when putting it all back together.

Sorry to hijack the post- but I recently received the front sensor code and thought it would be water. I bought AC delco sensors and replacement harness.Removed intake: The front foam under the intake was covered in oil. The front knock sensor well was covered in oil. Where could it be coming from? I am thinking of replacing the valley cover gaskets just in case that was the source of the oil.

A friend with '02 Coupe has had that P0332 code ever since he bought it over a year ago. He would always get it on hard acceleration. Replaced sensors twice. This past week his mechanic said the wiring harness was pinched and replaced that. He has not had code again since.

yes, there are 2 round gaskets under the valley cover. Likely where the oil is coming from.

Alot of people tape or use silicone to hold the wire harness in place prior to putting the manifold back on to prevent pinching the wires.
