New to the C5 world!!
Picked up my new to me 2004 C5 last Thursday. Man is it sweet, a world of difference over the old '72 stingray I'm restoring!! 44k miles, 1 owner, no wrecks, 6 speed manual. Drives & runs excellent, pretty excited about this car! Anyway, just wanted to say hello to you C5 guys, I'm used to being in the C3 world.

congrats! im relatively new here as well... and with a very similar car.. 1999 FRC with 56k miles, also a former one owner, and of course a 6 speed! I like those wheels, they look similar to the C7 Z51 wheels I just put on my car.. what are they?

Corvettes are an addiction. Congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the C5 family. Car looks great! Any pics of the 72? I have a soft spot for C3s.

Thanks! The rims are reproduction C6 ZR1 wheels made for the C5. Its kind of hard to tell though because half of the spokes are satin black & the other half are the brushed silver look that stands out more. But I like them! I respect you for buying the FRC for better rigidity & handling but I must admit when I took the targa top off when test driving this car I was hooked. Lol

Welcome' very nice looking car! Only 6 weeks since I bought my first C5. It's sharing the garage with my C7 and is really great to drive with my new Billy Boats. Waiting on delivery of new C6 ZR1 style wheels. Hope you have as much fun as I have with this Corvette.

Welcome aboard. Nice C5! I've owned my C3 for 12 years and still love it but the C5 is a joy to drive. I recently added a C5 to the stable and love it as much as the C3.
The way I would describe it is, You drive a C5 where as a C3 drives you. Good luck understanding that. :-D

Yes it has been a big project to take on but I've enjoyed every step of the way. & no I didn't replace existing metal, I purchased a whole new donor birdcage (cab frame) from an original 1971 vette that was in California its whole life. It's flawless, like new.

Welcome! Nice C3, looks like its coming along.
Heads up, look into a Skip Shift delete and a LMC5 Column lock bypass. I don't know about you, but skip shift was the most disappointing feature I've ever experienced. Angered me the *second* I drove my C5.

This is what you want. First product there, $40.
I was referencing the skip shift 1-4 feature. Very annoying, quick install and a $20 Muzzy's eliminator and its history.
Can be found here.
