Default Replacing head light bulbs. Differently.

Tried the recommended way. Taking off the trim piece then sneaking your hand in from the side. Was not working for me. Space was tight and it was difficult to line them up from the side.

Solution. Take off the fog lamp access panel on the bottom. Then it is easy to just reach up behind the headlights and replace the bulbs. You are working from behind the bulbs and you can see everything. and you have plenty of room for your hand and arm. For me at least it was much easier.

I also spotted that you can change the fog lamp bulb from above when the headlights are in the up position.

A true day of discovery!!!

Along that line, several years ago, I removed the entire headlight assembly, when I installed the brass gear in the motor. As I recall, removing it wasn't all that big of a deal, and probably would make replacing the bulbs a lot easier.

What access panel are you talking about? Is it right in front of the wheels?

After having added new corner lights, and later headlights, I believe removing the headlight assembly is the way to go. 10-15 minute job.
