Default Door Locks

The door locks on my '01 do not fully engage when I lock the door with the key fob. The interior lock lever only engages about 1/2 way and when I try the outside handle, the alarm sounds. Tried a new battery in the fob with the same results, so....any ideas?? Is there an adjustment or setting somewhere? Thanks in advance.

Can you physically lock the lock all the way from the inside for both doors?

As you state it's both doors having the same issue it may be a DIC feature causing the issue. There is a feature through the DIC that will allow auto lock/unlock when the car is in the presence of the key FOB. You typically will hear a very audible click along with DRL flash. Make sure this feature is turned off and then see if that helps. I had to turn it off as the proximity of where I was storing my keys relative to the car would keep locking and unlocking it periodically. I now just use the FOB.

Other than that you could check the connectors inside the accordion wiring for the door, but with both doors having the same issue I don't know if that would actually help.

From what I gathered, the relays in the door lock control module(s) go **** up.

Ergo the motor for the door lock doesn't get enough juice.
