Colored Engine Weather Stripping
Hey Guys,
My engine wetherstripping is old, and torn, and rat eaten in parts. I need to replace it. I was thinking of going with some colored weatherstripping. Anyone have any experience with it? I dont care if it wont last as long as OEM because its cheap enough to be changed out when it needs to be. My question is, is the there any negatves other than "not my taste"?

This. This was passe in the Honda world when I was in it in the early 2000's.
The irony is these are the same owners that mock Honda owners.
Back on topic, I'd be curious how good it truly is. Sure, if it's cheap and you can afford to replace it more than once, that works, but what's your time worth? I don't know how in-depth you need to go to replace everything, but if OEM costs twice as as much and lasts twice as long, do you care that you have to do it twice as often?
That being said, I don't know how high quality or not the GM stuff truly is.
The irony is these are the same owners that mock Honda owners.

Was hoping someone who is using it would chime in.. Maybe theyre closet colored weather strippers.. I knew a girl back in the day who was a stripper and didnt want anyone to know. Must be the same thing..

As to your question - I have pondered doing the same thing with red weatherstripping, but have not tried it yet.
