The Sapphire Build Thread
What's up y'all,
I'm starting a build thread to record the progress of my new-to-me C5, dubbed "Sapphire."
It's a 1999 "Z51" model, with a few upgrades here and there.
Current upgrades as of Jan. 3, 2020:
Comp Cams mild cam
Valvetrain upgrades
LS6 Intake Manifold
Twin filter CAI
LS6 "-243" casting cylinder heads
"Chinasetter" longtube headers
Billy Boat cat-back exhaust (w/ X-pipe)
MSD Plug Wires
Griffin Aluminum Radiator upgrade
LPE 160° thermostat
17"/18" Fikse FM5 wheels
Hotchkis Sport Sway Bar upgrade
Bilstein B6 shocks
Hurst Billetplus Short Throw Shifter
FYI- I'm young, and always willing to learn. If I say something wrong, please feel free to let me know.
Future Plans for the Car-
UPP Twin Turbo kit + fuel system
Water-air intercooler system
LSx (of some kind) swap, fully built of course
RPM TR-6060/C6Z differential swap
DSS carbon or aluminum torque tube replacement shaft
DSS C5 upgraded axles/hubs
Wish me luck,
Jon

Looks great and the build sounds awesome. If you're newer to working on cars, you'll learn plenty along the way.
Let's talk paint. Is that a black base coat with an (electron) blue pearl coat? It looks sexy. We are going to need some close ups on that for sure.
Where ya located? (edit: nm, I see the Texas plate)

Welcome to the forum, Jon, and congratulations on your C5! Looks very nice.
Definitely some strong upgrades planned. It will be interesting to follow your build thread.
