I can tell you this, a good set of metric tools and Torx drivers will do more for you than either of those manuals....now if you wanna buy a set of service manuals that would be money better spent....I have most of a C5 disassembled now and the above is what I used....well that and prior experience taking the last one apart.
Your best bet will be to get the Factory Service Manual (also called the "FSM"). They are year-specific and will be 3 separate books.
This sounds like a huge project
i saw a few in the for sale section will get on that pronto. I need a big project, trying to chill on my drinking and the price was right for what I want to do with it. Thanks for the info much appreciated
Before I bought my FSMs' I looked for both Haynes and Chilton Manuals, only to not be able to find them. I found C-4 and C-3 Manuals but could never locate a C-5 Manual. Very glad I got the Factory Manuals, yes pricey, but if your going to keep and work on your car, worth every penny.

I never touched a corvette in my life, I dont wanna damage anything I overlook in the process. Miss a bolt, wiring or any other items that will raise the cost or make it any harder than it needs to be. My back is finally good enough to get started soon

Amazon for under $30, just wasn't sure that's the right way to go on a car I will be triple the speed limit in, which is also why I won't just weld a front clip on
Found them on Amazon earlier today. As suggested I'll get the factory service manuals tho
Good to know, I have had a Clymer or Haynes for every vehicle I haver ever owned (until the C-5) It appears that they treat the C-5/C-6 as essentially the same. I guess that there are lots of similarities.
