We bought a C7. The dealer was only going to give us $2500 for the C5. I figure I would sell it myself or keep it for that. I drove it for awhile, but now I'm thinking of selling.
The car runs great, AC and stereo works great.
The paint is faded bad and it has 230,000 miles. A few other minor things. Is $5000 realalistic? I don't see others that cheap, but I also don't see them with that many miles.
The stealership probably figured that it would cost too much for them to put it in a "saleable" condition. You probably can take some time to clean it up and fix the small problems and then ask $6000 OBO. But be ready to accept a lower offer.
$5000 may not be a bad price but it may take some time to sell. Maybe check with local Corvette clubs, Craigslist (watch for scammers; insist on cash and a face-to-face transaction) and put an ad in the C5 For Sale section of the Forum. Be honest in the description and include pics too.
The car looks great in the rain. It's black and when it's dry, it looks flat on the hood, roof and deck lid. Maybe could be buffed. But you can't buff the miles. LOL. Anyways, it gives me an idea.
I might add, I don't need the money. So I can take my time.

Thanks for the help.
I could be very interested in it for a track car. Details please.

I'm not sure what the rules are. I don't want to get in trouble for posting outside of classifieds. Some forums are very particular. Moderators, if I'm pushing the rules, please delete this thread. I'm putting it on Craig's list. I will look in to putting it on here. (I'm not so computer sauvy)
As far as a track car, the engine has so many miles. It runs good now, but I would think if you want it to stay running, it needs to have an easy life. What "details" are you refuring to?
Yea, that's kind of how I feel. I have a 74' Beetle and the insurence is only $100 bucks a year. When the C5 gets a little older, it will be the same price.
