i have tried all those suggestions and then some...
i think i am now past the adding additive stage...has not helped at all
i have done multiple applications since 2017

what i have noticed is that it doesn't happen when the gas tank is half full or less
it happens only when i have half a tank or more ....
to be even more specific...and i can almost set a clock to it....40 mins after starting and driving away from home... fuel gauge goes to empty..
took me a while to notice as im now a bit paranoid about running out of gas and make a point to look at the gauge more often now
furthermore the range of how many more miles can be driven on whats left in the tank no longer shows a number and is blank

I had the same results as you are experiencing and tried Tectron. I ended up doing two things.

1. I ran my fuel level as low as possible and then removed both units from the tanks. I used lacquer thinner and a soft brush to clean the boards that the level indicator contact rubs against. I was careful not to damage the surface of board. Did this to both sides.

2. Had a PCM reflash that dealt with the gas gauge issue done at the Chevrolet dealer.

It has been three plus years and not a problem since. My car is a 2001 and it was easy to access the units from underneath.

Go to this thread and particularly post #33 it shows a great picture of the boards I cleaned: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ng-unit-2.html

As a side note after removal of the gauge units I tried straight Tectron on the boards and let it sit on there to see if it would dissolve the black colored buildup. It did not dissolve the deposits on contact, but lacquer thinner did start to dissolve the black buildup upon contact. After which I used a soft brush to finish the job..
