I was looking at my date codes to see how old my tires were. I have one on the RR dated 4911 which I understand is the 49th week of 2011 the RF the code is 5211, which would be the last week of 2011. But on the LR code is 003X and the LF is 005X. What does that mean? Did they change codes? These tires are Michelin Sport A/S Plus. Any help would be appreciated.

My Pilot Sports are date stamped on only one side. They appear on the outside like yours (right front and rear) The dates are on the inner side on the left side of the car.

The 003X and 005X you're seeing is the code we use for our model designations, since the front and rear tires on your car are different sizes, you'll have different model numbers. The DOT date code is stamped on one side of the tire, I'd bet that if you removed your wheel you'd see it on the other side.
Well, thank you everyone for "enlightening" me. I did not realize that the date code was only stamped on one side. Duh!
They were on the inside and matched the other side so I guess that is good. My tires are basically 5 years old with less than 15000 miles on them. I guess this fall when they run some tire sales I will get new tires. I am not planning any long trips, so I think I should be OK.

per Tire Rack:
tires have a useful life in service of between six to ten years. And while part of that time is spent as the tire travels from the manufacturing plant to the manufacturer's distribution center, to the retailer and to you, the remainder is the time it spends on your vehicle.
If I was in your shoes, I'd keep them awhile longer. You only got 15K on them so as long as the tread is okay (and they should be), keep them a few more years. Replacing them now is just a waste of your $.
It's those who still have the original Goodyear run-flats on their C5 who should worry, and they are out there

The built code have to be outside. 0111 is 1st week of 2011. But if the date code is important, the storage conditions are no less so. Unfavorable in damp and too hot places. It takes a temperate temperature, a dry place and avoid adding unnecessary weights on the stored tires.
