Default Dropped HUD

Hello forum. I own a 2002 Z06 and just got the dreaded HUD drop. So I'm looking for help to fix this. Or someone that fixes these for people in my area or a hundred or so miles. I'm in the upper West Ohio area Findlay

If you're somewhat mechanically inclined it's not a hard fix. It's just taking all the stuff out to get to it. Here's a start.

This is a very well documented fix. I used the above for mine about 6 months ago. Just give yourself time and go slow. Could probably add a double din HU while you have everything apart... LED upgrade would be good too since you will have the instrument cluster out.

When putting back together, test. After fixing the HUD, I plugged it (and the instrument cluster) back in and started the car. Wanted to make sure that I lined up the mirror correctly. My fail was not connecting the emergency flasher plug... Got everything put back together and had NO blinkers...

Good luck!

I recently took everything apart to do LEDs in the cluster and add gauge bezels. It's kind of a PITA with all you have to take out, but not hard at all to do. Just take your time.

Forgot the gauge bezels... Should do those too. They look great when done.

It's funny... All in all, my $0.30 fix for the HUD ended up costing me around $2,200! But worth the results!

Default HUD in and working

OK my HUD never worked like it does now it goes all the way up out of sight and all the way down. The job was very easy and did it by myself took around an hour to take out putting it back in I'm taking my time. Once again thanks to everyone on this forum for all your help.
