Ok, heard the eBay exhaust on a YouTube video for a C5 Corvette and it sounded really good. Similar to a Borla exhaust and if I'm not mistaken, the systems are around $400 or a little less. What are the downsides to those exhaust systems compared to the more expensive systems.
Buying is one thing...install (any exhaust) is another. I think it would be a real bear to install. (coming from a guy that is procrastinating headlight gear install) lol
I've had the eBay version mufflers on my car for 10 years and loved the way they sound. I've recently replaced them with the B&B PRT's. Still getting used to those but they're growing on me. Anyway, if you get them make sure to get some better clamps. The ones that come with them are junk. They take a bit to get them to line up and stay that way also but not impossible to get done. Mine kept moving on me so I had them welded. I think you'll be happy with them if you decide to purchase them.

The upside is the sound, they are very similar to the Borla systems.
The downside......an extreme pain in the a$$ to align properly and if you have an aftermarket xpipe/headers it makes it worse. I went through 3 ebay exhausts until I realized the time, effort, and cost would have been well spent elsewhere if I just bought a name brand from the beginning. I got a great deal on a Borla and had zero fitment issues. Sometimes a cheap way out becomes expensive in the long run.
Yes, I have looked at this system. It seems like a nice cat back set. Systems with large vs small mufflers. Are there advantages in one over the other? Seems like the smaller mufflers would be louder. Just a guess.
I had cutouts bypassing the mufflers before I got a proper axle back.
It's actually not that loud with cutouts. At least not as loud as I expected. It's not like a harley with open pipes than you can hear from 3 blocks away.
But as people have said, it doesn't sound good. At least I didn't think so. It makes the car sound like an old pickup truck or something.
I put Borla Stingers and an x-pipe on it, the S-type classic, which I believe the ebay exhaust is a clone of. It was dramatic improvement in sound quality. It's got a much deeper bass tone to it. Not super loud or anything, at idle it's fairly mild, but then really starts to roar at about 3k rpm. And the x-pipe got rid of the motorboat sound that you get with a muffler bypass and the stock h-pipe. You can get a 2 tip stinger system for about 600. Add another 200 for the x-pipe. But if you don't want to spend that much, I'd recommend the ebay exhaust over the muffler bypass.
