Of the 14 years I've been on the forum, I've never seen body molding on the back of a C5. Or, for that matter, on any car. Glad you took them off.
Love all your upgrades, exhaust, rims, rotors, and especially the interior leather upgrades. Well done sir

I think your car looks great! Taking the molding off the rear bumper was the right thing to do. Great job!

Thank You, knewblewkorvette! -Yes, I am trying to figure out what the heck those moldings are for, can't for the life of me figure them out, nor can I find them for sale anywhere to see what the manufacturer says they are for. I mean, they appear to be very specifically designed for the C5 to match the BSM's and fit the area exactly under the tail lights.

Hopefully someone here who knows what they are and who made them sees them and can enlighten all of us!

-Ray

They are ACI rear bumper mountings

https://www.corvettemods.com/C5-Corv...r_p_17100.html

Aside from those and the bsms vette looks great!

OMG, does this mean there might be more C5's with these backside moldings?

And they are almost $200.00! Notice the ad says "Breaks Up The Bumper" I would say it breaks the smooth flowing lines of the bumper!

Thanks for the compliment- I DO like the BSM's myself, I think they make the car look like it's moving even when standing still. And of course, to each his own!

02BlownZ06, I use a Nikon D3 or D3X camera with either Nikon f 2.8 28-70mm or Nikon f 2.8 70-200 VR II lenses. I have an associate's degree in photography, worked for a couple newspapers years ago, and ran a photography business for several years. I am now retired from that.

I will send you a pm tomorrow with some hints about photographing cars and vehicles. There is some technique to it, most importantly lighting, but it would take up too much space on a thread to do that.

I sincerely thank you for the compliments about the photography!

Thank You for the compliment! I HOPE Santa and next year bring me a full carbon fiber engine bay, and stainless braided cables and hoses!

I better be a good boy! (My lovely wife and all 3 kids buy me Corvette stuff every Christmas, Birthday, and Father's Day)

You have a artists eye for color, and the condition or your car is remarkable. Grats on a really nice C5. Mine is more performance oriented, so I don't have stuff like CF or chrome in the engine bay, but I imagine you will do a tasteful job.
