I must be missing something. I have an 03 Z06 that has been delivered to the dealer which I will be picking it up tomorrow. While I was there looking at the car Monday, my salesman gave me a CD (Black case) titled 'Corvette Instructional CD' from my car. It appears to me to be just an audio yet I'm reading in the C5 General is that everyone is enjoying the video on the CD. I was told that when the car arrived everything was missing from the car except this CD.
I guess my questions are 1) What exactly comes with the car as far as manuals, videos, etc. and 2) Do I still suck that bad on a computer that I am missing something on this CD. Thanks for the help.

Re: Question on 2003 CD (Pipefighter)
Put the CD in your computer's CD-ROM and look at the contents of the CD in the Windows Explorer. What do you see there? Make sure to explore any folders on the CD.
I've yet to see an 03 CD. If there are videos on there you should probably see either a Quicktime file (.mov), a Video for Windows file (.avi), a windows Media file (.wmv) or an MPEG file (.mpg, .mpeg).
Ahh....you guys need to get your hands on the 03 dealer CATALOGUE, which has a very nifty CD in it. This catalogue just came out a week ago, which is why nobody has 'em yet. The catalogues are heavily guarded by the dealers, as the Vette item, particularly this *50th* issue, are quite expensive, so you'll have to work hard to get one. The CD has all the usual stuff that a paper catalogue would have, plus Vette history timeline, a nice Vette screensaver, etc etc etc. A fancy way to look at colors (click, click) and other improvements to printed catalogues. This CD is gold in color, with a checkered flag motif in the gold, and says 1953-2003. Quite distinctive. Has lots of QuickTime vids in it.
The *50th* CD is NOT the instructional video that you get at delivery, which is called "Instructional CD". That CD that comes with the car (in the black case with a 50th logo on the front and is called "Instructional CD") at delivery is mainly for learning about the Dual Zone AC, key fobs, Memory settings, shift light, and other mundane things. I didn't bother with it much since this wasn't my first C5 and contains no new information at all. Boring, and nothing that's not in the Owner's Manual. And, it's strictly an audio CD to be used in your car's CD player while you sit there monkeying with the AC controls...no pics or vids. I checked by playing it in my computer just to be sure.
I predict that fancy paper will become a thing of the past, and all mfgs will use CDs for detailed info. Easily updated.
Rich........I have your catalogue (and the CD waiting for you).
Hey guys, I wonder if the 50th CD is available online somewhere, like the GM website? It's 622 megs. When I finish this Reply, I'll go have a look for it. Maybe Gnutella can find it.
And another thing...the 03 catalogue has several of the same pictures that the 02 version did....except they PhotoShopped the *50th* badges onto the nose and tail. Same Quicksilver vert going down Pacific Coast Hwy, same license plate number, but a new 03 *50th* badge on the tail. Funny, huh?
How much does the '03 catalog w/ CD cost? I remember my 2000 catalog running about $50 to order via the parts department..... because no dealers out here stocked them..... I'm sure that's still the case today. I'd be curious to get it even though I don't have an '03. Sounds like a cool package.
How long before every lawyer GM has moves to file a copyright infringement suit on the guy who trys to SELL what they give away? Man, you think they're tough on someone who puts an innocent little Bowtie on their ad or product....imagine what they'll do if they get "Napstered" on that CD!!!! :boxing
