"Tsw" my rim co, thinks these sizes will fit ...front 245/45/18
Rear 275/40/19 . The plan is about 1 " bigger all around .. does anyone run these sizes ???? Help plz . Thx j 2000 c5
What size are your wheels?
You'll need about 7" to 9" wide wheels for the 245s and about 8.5" to 10.5" wide wheels for the 275s. You might also look at the website of the tire manufacturer you are considering. They almost always show not only the minimum and maximum width but also the optimal width for their tire.
I imagine it would work if you're at stock heights, but the car is going to be taller off the ground (equivalent to a 1/2" lift). What is the motivation for this?
If you are getting the +1 sizes and 1" wider that would be 9.5x18 Front and 10.5x18 Rear. Then I would go with 275/35x18 front and 305/35x18 rear. If you are going to 18" Front and Rear then I would go 255/35x18 Front and either 275 to 295/35x18 rear. Different tire manufacturers have slightly different diameter sizes for the same tire size so be sure to check them out. When you are finished look at the ride height of where you started vs the new tires. On the average 245/45x17 and 275/40x18 are 25.6 and 26.7 in diameter. 255/35x18 and 295/35x18 rear give the same vehicle rake and lowers the car 0.6". If you went with the 18/19 set up and 1" wider then you would have a 0.7" rake but effectively lowering the rear by 4/10th of an inch. Non of these would cause a AH/ABS issue.
I went with "base" C6 tire sizes - 245/40 x 18 up front and 285/35 x19 rears. Goal was all weather drivability, not an exotic look. Also, being stock Corvette sizes meant that there was a really good range of tires available. Plus I figured Chevy engineering probably knew what they were doing when they did that setup......
Rims: I'm running 8.5's up front and 10's at the rear. Been on for some years now, with zero issues.
Tires, BTW are Mich Pilot Sport A/S. And I am lowered on stock bolts, just to center up the wheels in the openings.
