How many have done the mod of converting your DRL to switchback LED and do you like it? Did you change out your corner lens with doing the mod? who did you purchase the DRL swithback mod from?
I loooooove mine. Totally optioned out Radio Flyer Innovations parts George makes some amazing stuff, you should check out his website. Plus, he is a forum vendor
I have had mine for years. I have lots of other pics if you want me to post them. Most from when I was mostly stock.

I did this and like it. I did also install the clear corner lenses. I got my bulbs from Radioflyer and am very happy. You will also need a hyperflash harness if you go this route.
I did this to mine as well. Love them. I bought smoked drl's from JW Motoring ( also a forum vendor) along with the switchback bulbs and a hyperflash harness.
I did the clear corners, switchbacks, LED modded taillights, and hyper flash harness all at the same time. I really like the look -- plus along with the bi xenon headlights I bought from RadioFlyer, my C5 Coupe looks much more up-to-date.
Don't take this th wrong way because it is blunt, but...you will look like a jackass to every car guy/gal out there if you don't run a hyper flash. Your blinkers will cycle 10X faster without one (as if you have dead bulbs in the circuit). They are cheap, and plug right in to an easy spot on the bottom of the steering column. If you are industrious like me, you can just figure out the wiring yourself, since it is just a couple of plugs, and a relay, and it'll only cost $10.
Just spent half weekend doing just such a mod. Total failure, must has proper LED,s not just bulb equivalents. BCM controls running lights (signal light portion of bulb) when driving during day and this would be the portion that a resistor is wired into. Needless to say it will be hotter than hell after 4 min and I mean hot. Many many issues associated with incorrect bulbs and wiring. If you think it is worth over $100- for right leds and resistors go for it. Corvettes are crazy enough looking vehicles that led's are not worth the hassel IMHO and since you asked. These cars were built before leds became common and best be left that way... Again since you asked so don't shoot me!
I did the ACA's (from JWM), clear corners and switchbacks at the same time. I bought my clear corners from ebay for $45 and switchbacks from super bright leds for like $20. I also bought Phillips amber LED's from Amazon for the side markers since they are clear corners and you need an orange reflector in Cali. They work perfectly and have no issues at all with over heating.
I already had Halo tails (Corvette Envy) that came with the "Hyperflash" harness installed.
Sorry for the big pictures, I'm not sure how to resize them on here.
I did it too. Smoked corners from Ebay ($42 shipped), used set of switchback's from a forum member ($25?), clear side marker LED from Wal-Mart ($8), Hyper flash harness (I forget how much). Love the look and pretty easy to do. Hardest part was jacking the front end to get under it to switch out the housings.
Why do you have an amber bulb in your DRL? BAT, too?
It's the switchback..... when lights are off and only the DRL is on, it's amber. Using the turn signal, it blinks amber. When the lights are on, it's "clear" and when the turn signal is used, it blinks amber (switches from amber to clear/ clear to amber).

I understand the switchback capabilities as I have them, too. The question is, why do you have an amber bulb in the DRL socket instead of the side socket, where the turn signals are supposed to be? Or do you have amber/white bulbs in both?

I don't have any amber bulbs. My side marker lights are just side markers. From the factory they were amber, but I used a clear LED there. This pic is with the lights on (only parking lights are on)
The DRL is the switchback LED. When in DRL mode, it's amber, and will blink amber for the signal (when the lights are off). Shown here:
When the lights are on (show above in the first pic), the signal then switches from clear to then blink amber. I don't have a pic showing the amber signal WITH the clear side marker LED.

I see what you're saying about ErikwithAK's picture. He has his lights on (indicated by the fog's) and he's got the amber/clear vs mine with all clear with lights on. Mine are only amber when in DRL mode, and ALL signals (lights on or off). My side markers don't blink, ever. They are as strict in MA about the side marker being amber (although they were and probably should be).
The key for me was Radioflyer's white DRL switchback harness. White DRLs and amber turn signals with amber side LEDs through clear corners really brings the look up from the early 2000's to now.
