Default install LED lights to foot well lights

I want to replace the 194 bulbs with LED'S in my 1998 Corvette Coupe in the foot well area to get more light to the floor area. I was told in order to that I would need to add resistance to circuit or they will not work. Can anyone help me with some advice?

No resistor or circuit needed. I know first hand.

No need at all for a resistor.

Buy them on ebay, I got a set of 4 for less than $2 shipped. Here's a link, and pick out bulbs that have as many LEDs as possible on them (the more, the brighter):

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...94+led&_sop=15

You can use the extra two to do your trunk/cargo area lights.

If interested, I'm selling my corvettes interior LEDS as well as reverse LEDs.. Used them for about a week, so they're still new. Check out the parts section or email me if interested.. they are from Radioflyer..

I believe you're thinking of the need for a resistor or other means of putting a load on the circuitry for flashing lights (such as turn signals) so the computer doesn't misinterpret the lack of load as a burned out bulb and flash the lights quickly which is typically done to advise of a burned out bulb.

I am just looking for a brighter light for the interior floor area. I was told an LED would give me a brighter light. When I stopped at an auto store the salesman said I would need to put in a resistor in circuit or they would not work. These are the two lights that come on when you open door, not a flashing light.

You have several options, you can replace the existing bulbs with LED, if you want more light, you can integrate led strips ( found at most Auto parts stores.).. you can choose 8 in. 12 in. 18 in etc. That's what I did. I put a couple of strips in the hatch area.. the strips can be put out of sight, and make a dramatic difference.

Or you can make them yourself like I did.
See post 2 on how bright they are.

I did "both" - replaced the bulbs with LEDs and added 12" strips. Also added LED strips along the door bottoms and along the sill plates. I pretty much only drive and park at night, so they are big help.
