Transmission or Shifter Problem?
I have a 2002 Z06 with 40K miles. I have owned the car for about a year and the previous owner did a lot of modifications which were done by a very reputable shop. LG cam and valvetrain, C6 shifter, some kind of "racing" clutch and multiple other things.
Anyway I was getting off the interstate after a long trip which included a traffic jam. My car would not come out of 6th. gear without a lot of force, nor did it want to go easily into any other gear. Now the shifter does not seem to want to move to the left or right. Is harder to move. It can be finessed into all gears but 6th. The clutch seems to operate and feel the same to depress. There are/were no noises.
Anyone had this happen or know where to begin? I thought about taking the shifter apart to see if the problem was there, but this is hopeful thinking.
