Default Times have certainly changed

I've been on this forum for 16 years + . Today it became apparent to me, the amount of participation decline that has slowly been occurring here.,.

IN times past,, you would always find two or three full pages of Todays posts.
I've just noticed , that while we are into 15 hours of " Today " there have only been 40 total posts. Its not surprising in a forum that is supported by people owning a 20 year old car..

Just thought I would mention that, as a long time C5 General and C5 tech participant. Incidentally, I spent my first 10 years here, mostly in the tech forum.

I like the internet forums for Corvettes, trucks, boats, etc. etc. because you get new information, quickly. But sometimes I feel like I'm reading a "Corvette Weekly" from 2005 when I visit the CF C5 section.
Understand that new people come here everyday, asking questions that are New to them. AS for me, I've answered just about every question possible a dozen times or more, in a dozen years to a dozen different members asking the same question..
I came here to Help, not get help, so for me a new member is a new opportunity to help some for the first time.

Just my perspective.

Remember too that there are a few new sections as well, so many of those that posted here (C5 sections) have long since moved on to newer, or just gone.

Oh I fully understand the " Why"... it has just not been so apparent as it was today.

There are still a heck of a lot more posts here than on the Mustang and Range Rover subforums I frequent.

I don't post a whole lot and I have only been a member for a few months since getting a C5 Z06 but I check and read this forum at least 3 times a day everyday.

That's probably because most of those active members from a year ago are dead..

Well I was sure happy to find this forum. It helped me in making my purchase and has been of invaluable help to me since then. Does the C7 board still turn like this one used to? From my perspective as fairly new to the forum, the board still seems fairly active and vibrant and I try to soak it all up like a sponge and also help if I can. I wouldn't mind seeing more action but as the C5 ages it would be a natural thing I suppose.

On a similar note, I still find more activity here, than on the Jeep forum that I check in to, several times a week. Along with my C5, I have a fairly new Grand Cherokee, as a winter/utility vehicle, and since I'm new to Jeeps, I joined that group to ask a few questions related to the vehicle. I still check in to CF a couple of times a day, but since I have no "projects" in progress with the C5, I hit the "off topic" section a little more.

Wow-that is really interesting ET...i would think it would be the opposite. I know on the Vintage Mustang forum where i spent many years there was always LOTS of activity-but that was to be expected with 50 year old cars. Your gas gauge didn't work-you pulled the bezel and would find 30 yards of electrical tape hooked into 9 different colored wires pieced in there by 12 different teenagers...took about 10 posts to sort all that out!!! Everytyhing (almost) ive done to our "new" 02 has been unbelievably straight forward and found from previous posts....my point i guess is the newer the car (hopefully!) the less problems
