Default 1997 Floor Mat Retainers?

I have a early production C5 and there are no floor mat retainers on either side.

Was this an oversight on early C5's ?

Can someone please show me a picture of there retaining clips on the drivers side.

It's starting to bug me babysitting the bunched up floor mat.

Look on the big auction site. Search corvette c5 floor mat retainer. Mine slides through two slots in carpet and snaps together. My 1998 c5 had the carpet torn and the clip lost. I will have to sew the carpet to reform the 2 slots. Shout back if there are no slits in your carpet and you need measurements.

Well I guess Bowling Green forgot to have retainer slots made into the carpet.

As I thought a Oops at the factory

Now do I defile the carpet or not ??????

I most likely will not, I now know and so does everyone else from this point forward ..... Add this oversight in the corvette history books for authenticity

Thank You very much for your time on this issue with the carpet.

Why don't you just have some Lloyd custom mats made for you car, and have them leave out the anchor hole?

I did just that , Left, Right and rear in Firethorn red with logos and contrasting black trim.

I couldn't stop upgrading......

If I'm lucky I might even get that new car smell for a bit.

Thanks again for your effort .....
