Short story is I most likely need a new engine due to water damage.
My insurance company is involved.
I could use some help with figuring out how best to go about it, espically with the worst case scenario.
I know that you all have a wealth of knowledge and more resources than I have.
What kind would be useful info because to me if water got high enough to get into the block of the engine it also got into the car and with all the electronics on these car I would hope they just total the car.
Sorry about that guys.
Hydro locked most likely, but to massive flash flood that was pushed on to the vette by trucks making waves.
I have pulled plugs already #7 poured about 1cup maybe a lil more.
I attempted to roll the motor by hand and even with a helper pipe on the tool the motor would not budge.
I'm almost cerain that something broke when it happened.
I agree with the above, if you're going to have to replace the engine, put a bigger one in like a LS7, or LS3 for a more budget friendly option. LS3s are easily sourced from GM trucks in the guise of the L92, and then converted to LS3. If my engine ever dies (which I doubt outside of a freak accident), I'm swapping in a LS3. Or maybe by then I'll have enough money for a LS7 swap. One can dream, right?

After replacing the engine you could experience electronic issues the rest of it's life. I would want it totaled. It's history will show it's been in a flood so selling it later on could be tough. Get as much out of the insurance company as you can and get yourself a new C5.
