Battery area cover
Hey Guys,
Picked up a battery cover from American custom industries when I was in Carlisle a couple years ago. Finally painted it but can't figure out how it should be attached. It has 2 tabs but I'm not sure how that figures into the equation. I tried double stick tape but that didn't seem right.
Here's a picture of it.
Thanks,
Les

"This is our latest - a nicely shaped Fiberglass cover to hide that ugly Battery! Shaped to fit around your hood latch. Simple Velcro installation! "

It's the Velcro part that throws me. I used Velcro on the fuse/relay box to "kind of" hold it secure. I thought the two tabs fit into something but they don't seem to.
I also have one like AEGuy painted in Anniversary Red that fits really snug under the weatherstripping but liked the way the ACI one looked.
I was hoping that there was a more secure way to hold it down.

I have the same cover. You got the Velcro part right. Those two tabs slide between the cowl and the hood release cable, just for stability.

Get some rubbing alcohol . Clean off the top of the battery.
Get some Velcro. I use a 8.99 HEAT gun from harbor Frieght.
Heat up both sides of velcro real good. Apply too top of battery and underside to cover.
It will stick. Preparing the surface good . Will get you the best results.

Looks like the same cover I have. I did not want to try to wedge the rear tabs under the cable, so in my case I epoxied two short PVC pieces of 1-1/2" pipe with PVC end caps to the bottom of the cover so that they rest on top of the battery at just the right height and only applied velcro to the fuse box removal **** on the front. Has worked perfectly for several years and allows quick removal. Don't actually have any pics of the bottom of the cover, but can post some if needed...
