depends on the club and on YOU . had vettes on and off since 1964 but never looked in to the local club till we got a c5 about 11 years ago . went to a meeting because i had a question and found the members to be arrogant . never got a good answer and never went back . . peace

I will echo what some others have said. a club can be awesome if you find the right club. I think it is definitely worth looking into and membership is voluntary so if you don't like it you leave. The possible benefits are ten fold though and can really make owning your car a lot more fun.

Just sayin that I think it would be fun

As most have mentioned --
go to a few events put on by various clubs and if they're your kind of people -- think about joing.

If you want a club where you can "use" your Corvette --
try one that puts on autocross (solo) events -- like he SCCA
There's an SCCA region in your area that hosts all sorts of events

Scroll through and you'll see all types of activities

Have fun.

I happen to be very lucky to be part of a very good club, and by "good" I mean active. A good club offers activities for all types of Corvette owners.

You should first decide what you want to do with your Vette and find a club that meets your requirements...

Here are some popular things clubs will do for you:
  • Car Shows (both attend and host)
  • Charities (always good to give back)
  • Cruises (get in your cars and take off)
  • Dinners / Lunches (socialize at some fun places for a nice meal)
  • Sponsorships (Discounts from certain vendors)
  • Clinics (teach you how to detail your car, or judge a car show, how to make a certain repair, etc)
  • Vacations (certain larger clubs even book vacations together)
  • Make new friends that share the same passion as you do
Decide what you want to do with your Vette and then decide if a club is for you or not...

Good Luck!
According the posts, you are very lucky.

I remember the annual club show. 1st place clean and shine went to a brand new pace car, taken out of the garage just for the show. It hurts when the rest of us, who drive our cars and worked hard cleaning it. Another one trailered his car 20 miles and got a trophy.

As others have said, go hang with the perspective club FIRST. I was in a mustang club for 5 + years and they were honestly one of the neatest group of people ive met in the car world. Their VP took both my kids for a ride in his shelby at a track day and gave them their first taste of 100 mph. We were invited to go to day trips, cruise ins, etc with the club. I had members volunteer to come over, pick up my whole family and go to stuff when my car was on blocks for one thing or another...and this was when we weren't even members! (ok-shout out to the Kitsap County Mustang Club) I went and hung out with another local club...lasted for about an hour and done. So, alot depends on the people. You will get a good or bad vibe pretty quick...(we will be looking for vette club here pretty quick next to Oly, WA so we are in the same boat). Good luck and it can definitely be a great experience

There are a lot of differences in clubs so you need to check out a couple and see what kind of activities they do and what their meetings are like. Then you can decide if it is something that you would like or not.

I am in a small club and it is ok for me. There are quite an assortment of activities. I do not like some, and like others. The people in mine are all friendly. They are also all ages from about 20 to 80.

There is a group of people that primarily go to dinners, movies, etc. There are others that like the cruises (up to about 400 mile outings). Some like the car events like we run an autocross 2x per year and we have an annual charity car show. Some like working on their cars, some like cleaning polishing, some like driving them.

In short, even in a small club there can be quite a range of activities and types of people. The only way to know if they have any activities you like, or people you want to be around is to go to a couple meetings and see what you think.
