Been searching for a corvette for a bit now and it looks like waiting has proven to be worth it.
By end of month, I will have a 2004 Le Mans edition Z06 with 82,000 km and then sending it to get safetied and e-tested.
While I have it in garage, I was thinking on adding a GM rearview mirror with a rear camera built in.
Trying to keep this stock as much as possible, and with keeping original rearview mirror, Does anyone see a problem with this upgrade .
May sound foolish but just wanted to make sure before going a head ( will post before and after photos when I can )

As long as you can wire it properly and mount the rear camera in the right location, it sounds like a good upgrade. I know others have done a similar thing only instead of using a new mirror they installed a rear camera when doing a double din stereo upgrade.
I can't find a reason to have a back up camera. Maybe it's because I grew up in Chicago and know how to parallel park. I did need one on my motor home so I could hook up the trailer.

I don't usually admit this online, but there is a reason I prefer to have a rearview camera is because of my disability ( Cidp ) and while I can see out both mirrors fine , it's hard to turn my head over my shoulders if needed, thus the rear camera works as another pair of eyes for me.
So I appreciate that you don't feel the need to have one, I also hope your never in the position to find them helpful

I'm in the same boat--five vertebrae fused together with titanium doesn't like to move around very freely.
