Hello everyone! It's been a while. I had Stage 3 Lymphoma that I beat. 7 guys from my old shift at my firehouse were diagnosed with cancer within 2 years of each other. Luckily I got a beatable cancer at age 40. As a reward for going thru 6 months of chemo, I was going to take my Corvette the entire stretch of Route 66 in November. Unfortunately, I can't imagine doing it with my current seats. I've been out of the loop for a while, what is everyone installing in lieu of the original seats? I don't want racing seats, I'd really like C7 seats if it is possible to install them. I'm open to any suggestions, I really want to make this trip work. Thanks for everyone's help and support!!!!!

Also, I'd like to save money. Are c6 seats comfortable? I donno what seats would be good. I would like to bring my dad, and he would complain with my current seats.

Happy to hear you beat it and back enjoying your life!! Now about your seats, did you ever consider to re foam and skin current seats? Very reasonable $$$. I recently sat in a C6 at a dealership. Positively like sitting on concrete with a leather wrap. Would not consider trading out my C5 seats for these.

COngrats on the victory. I beat lymphoma 33 years ago. I got it at 19 years old. It sucked. For seats I'd stick with stock seats for non-racing use.

When I had C5 seats, they were comfortable ....just didn't hold you in place very well. I have aftermarket seats that are rather hard but hold you in place very well.

I prefer the c5 seat to the c6
I have c5 seats in my c3 I can drive it all day no problems . The c6 z06 I have to stop, and get out every two hours or so .

Regrettably, I can offer no advice about seats, other than my personal strategy of repair and renew on some future day. Sorry.

I do happily offer congratulations on your health, but that is not why I clicked in.

I found route 66 boring, it is not like the days of the old song. It is high speed multi lane deal, with chain stuff for the travelers on the side. Side roads were better for me, although I would skip around as needed. Did it twice so far, next time I'm taking the vette. ( and crossed fingers, it's old.)

The first time was in a 64 VW sunroof beetle, 65 dollars cash ,fifteen for the plates, and I left out of Baltimore. Made it all the way to Utah, via yellowstone and such, before I needed a new wheel hub. Cars were cheaper , simpler, and slower, back then.

I still have the fine cherrywood bowl and a bunch of memories that couldn't be found on 66.

However you enjoy your trip is best, the way I see it. It would take true effort to screw up a road trip like that.

Good morning sir. Lung Cancer survivor here. I just had a 2017 Camaro SS for the past 2 days for a "test drive" and found the seats some of the best I have ever sat in. Don't know if they will fit into a C5 but just wanted to chime in.

Congrats on beating it!! I am with you on the seats. I like the looks of my seats esp since they the black/mod red combo but they are not a great seat otherwise. I have looked at a lot of different seats and struggle to find something I like. The Caravaggios would probably be my choice: https://www.caravaggiocorvettes.com/...-leather-seats

Except they are fairly spendy. The best looking seats I have ever seen are even pricier:

Here is a place that has some much cheaper offerings: https://www.carid.com/2002-chevy-corvette-seats/

I like my stock seats, but if I were to ever upgrade them, I would go with the Caravaggio seats too. They just look great to me.
