Default Stoptech rotors is this right?

The rotor is labeled R For rear.. i assume thats being inside the car rather than looking at it from the front? The slots are going backwards...

the R is for Right. the other one should have an L

... unless they changed it to mean Leading and Rear now

and it honestly don't matter which way the slots lean. some designs have a broken criss-cross pattern. the cooling vanes are the bigger deal - which this one looks to have directional ones (slanted vanes sandwiched in between the friction surfaces instead of straight ones). looking across the top when installed, those are supposed to open towards the rear for optimal cooling, however, the factory decided to make directional vanes for one side (with the others "backwards"), and many aftermarket manufacturers followed suit so they're the same as the stock design (however dumb it was).

You have installed them correct. I have rear Stoptech rotors too (the slotted ones) and my slots are also pointing forward. This is the right rear rotor

maybe it's just the angle of the picture, but it looks like your rotor has angled vanes (depicted on the left of your sheet). the way to tell is looking "through the sandwich" of the friction surfaces.
if the vanes're swept, it's directional. if the vanes are straight out from the center to the edge, you can put it on either side based on whichever way you want the slots on the friction surface to look.

Interesting. The first photo shows a drill pattern that isn't consistent throughout the rotor surface (3/3, 3/4, 4/3...). Is this particular to Stop Tech rotors? Every other drilled rotor that I've noticed has the same pattern throughout. Is this arrangement better at disseminating heat?

That is very interesting, good catch, I must investigate.

I never thought about the weight difference. How much more do they weigh would you estimate?

I just weight mine seems the stock 12.8 fronts weigh about 17.6 lbs and the new stop tech slotted front weight 18.6, but my stock ones were turned, dont know if this makes a difference or not.
