Default Battery replacement

Well, I finally had to replace the original battery on my 2004 vert. The original battery lasted 13 years and 2 months. The car was starting to through random codes, most recently the "Service Column Lock". The car just clicked over 24,000 miles last weekend. I am the 2nd owner and have only averaged 1,300 miles per year on the car. When not in use, it is in a heated garage with a battery tender attached. I installed an Optima "Red Top" battery. We'll see if it lasts as long as the original
Next, I need to look into replacing the original Good Year run flat tires. Any suggestions for for placement tires ?

That's a long time, got all the good out of that battery!

I replaced my good year run flats with Michelin pilot sport zero pressure in 2009, at that time I had original run flats on back, and cooper tires on the front (non run flats) forget the model but they had a lightning bolt logo.

The coopers were put on summer 2004 on a road trip, I drove from my home at the time San Francisco Bay area to L.A. then to Phoenix then to Amarillo Texas and saw the fronts (original good years)were wore out and bought them at a discount tire.

Cooper Zeon.

I have no complaints on the Cooper or Michelin, they say the car rides or handles better with the non run flat type tires, plus they cost less, but you are kinda screwed if you have a flat, unless you have a air pump and tire plugs to fix it.

13 years with a red top? Probably not, even with a tender.
With a yellow top, yes, I got 13 years out of my first one.

So, do you drive the Vette in the cold/winter? If not, then these:

How did the car drive with non run flats on the front and run flats on the rear. It seems like it might have been a little squirly.

My recommendation for tires would be a set of Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs. I have them on my car and they are a great tire for a very good price.

Good luck with the Optima. My experience with any of those have been over priced and under performed.

If the original AC Delco got you 13 years, I gotta wonder why you didn't go with the same?

A very high quality run-flat, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP. Out the door at Costco $1.093.17. Just installed a new red top optima.

Another vote for Hankook V12's. Get a price from TireRack and have your local supplier beat it to avoid installation price rip offs.

13 years on the same tires
Pretty dangerous, and new tires will make a HUGE difference in the ride and handling.

I am having Hankook V-12's installed on my car on Wednesday morning. The cost was $800 out the door, mounted, balanced, etc. I think that is a good price.
