AC compressor locked up

My AC compressor locked up and stop-ed working .... what should be replaced and what are the most reliable parts !!!!

What is the normal protocol " maintenance required" when your A/C Compressor locks up !!!!!!!

Besides the compressor, you'll at least need an accumulator/drier and orifice. Depending on why the comp froze up, you might need a condenser also.

Thanks , I want to be safe and not risk .... more issues !!!! I didn't notice the problem till I drove home , thank heavens it was only a few blocks !!! However, when I popped the hood the AC clutch was smoking " red hot" from the the belt friction ..... new belt might be wise also !!!
