Someone here advised regarding the use of WAZE as a navigator app - not just a cop-spotter. Wondering if other people traveling this weekend will be using WAZE and how we might be able to find each other?

I have a 120 daily RT commute. Waze has saved me many times, mostly in avoiding long backups as it reroutes me around accidents.
It warns of police/debris in road/accidents ahead. I use it daily and love it.

I only use Waze for cop-spotting/avoiding speed traps. I find Google Maps is better with actual directions/navigation.

Me too....I've used Google maps on every trip for the last few years.
I have a solar charger I put on the dashboard and plug into IPhone and drive .....

Does anyone know if everything is open on Thursday instead of doing Friday at Carlise?

I drive 180 miles RT and also you Waze everyday. If there is an accident on my route or even just a traffic jam it will reroute to get you there the quickest way possible. I like it.

One thing I've heard about Thursdays - is that this is a day that the vendors do a lot of wheeling and dealing amongst themselves. I can't imagine that "something would be shut down on Thu that's open the rest of the weekend" - but for example if you are interested in the seminars I'm sure the good ones are later...

I do not use it for navigation. It sometimes gives weird directions. One time it told me to turn right before going over a bridge. The bridge was the ONLY way across the river. No idea where it was sending me. If you know the way Waze is great as a cop spotter. I use Map Quest on Iphone.

The show officially opens on Thursday, so yes everything from the major vendors will be up and running. Today and tomorrow are the big vendor set up days. It's now a 4 day weekend show!
