Default Steering Column Lock

I am learning with this new to me 2001, Automatic C5 about all it's little "issues". I think I have this figured but just want to confirm.

I have paperwork from a dealer saying "All work preformed on recall 01044 was rechecked" that was dated in 2003. This seems to indicate that recall was done prior to 2003.

Anyway my steering column will not lock.

I found a very informative thread on here with all the details covering all the various cars and the recall.

From what I can read after the recall is done the steering column will not lock on a A4 car (2000). So if that's right my car is as it should be?

Just want to verify if I am reading that correctly?

Thanks in advance

sounds to me like you have a CLB installed if your column won't lock. The GM "fix" would have still let the column lock...OCICBW but I don't see GM doing anything that would keep it from locking as I am sure there is some liability for that. Of course we all know how GM feels about liability.....lawyer up and deny.
