Default Cam choice

Looking to install a cam and was looking at the btr stage 3. Non dd weekend cruiser no track. Already have headers and cai. I was looking to mill my heads to bump compression and more low end torque. Your Thoughts please...thanks in advance!

Big cam. Power band is above 4500 RPMs. Unless you do the heads, I would go smaller. I made 483RW with only a 228-232 cam, which was a breeze to tune, and had a nice lope.

Way too big of a camshaft for sure.... Go with one of these and you will never regret it imo

- FTI StreetSweeper HT 228/232 | .612"/.600" | 111lsa
- EPS Naturally Aspirated 226/234 | .604"/.604" | 113+2lsa
- Tick SNS torqueMAX Stage 2 227/235 | .618"/.605" | 110+3lsa

I am personally going with the TICK SNS torqueMAX Stage 2 this winter for my car.

Similar to the "Streetsweeper" cam @ 228-232@112+5 and .600/.600 lift. Made by Crane.

I'm in the same boat here as well. Deciding on going with a mild cam or dong an ls3 swap with a 235/242 texas speed cam and bolt ons. Mine is a daily driver non track car as well.

Wish you hadn't asked that... I believe it means the cam is advanced 5 deg. from centerline, but not sure.

why dont you do your gears. unless you have empty highways the cam will be useless on the street.

i thought about gears and i dont want 4.10 gears 1st gear would be worthless and 3.73 i dont think would be enough...having 3.42's already. As far as a cam goes i wouldnt say useless...had plenty of cars with cams. The cam im getting is from 2500-6600 rpms with a great low end pull.

yeah if your going to go with a smaller cam than its good . 1st being useless on 4.10s is only with cams or blowers. i have 4.10s with headers, intake, tune, and its a blast to drive. it feels like an electric car, it just goes so quickly.

BTR stage 3 here. I don't think it's too big. This is my first cammed car and it drives great. Biggest change is 6th gear is useless below 70mph. Sounds awesome and made 440/405 to the wheels
