From the pic, I would guess that the end of a male connector is broken off in there. Pull the fuse #7 then you could reach in with some needle nosed pliers and pull out the broken piece. If you cannot then you will likely need to replace the 12v outlet.
But there is a second 12v outlet in the console that you should be able to use.
Correction, I was wrong as 8VETTE7 pointed out below.
Pull the fuse #7 before you poke around in the socket.
P.S. Had to modify the connectors to fit wiring harness. Cut off ring connectors and replaced them with male spades. Also had to grind the spades down a little to fit into the female plugins on the harness. I'm sure there are other ways to do the connections. That's just how I did it.
