Here's my problem. I have the 3 position switch (didn't even know there was a two position switch) Tour, Sport, and Performance. I'm looking at buying the F55 shocks for the car. However, in the description of the F55 shocks it only mentioned Tour and Sport. My question is....Will these F55 shocks work? I'm assuming that the switch is just adjusting voltage to the shocks to stiffing them. Has anybody installed these F55 shocks on a 3 position switch?
If you have a 3 position switch the system is an F45 and NOT an F55. You cannot use F55 shocks on an F45 system without purchasing the F45 to F55 upgrade kit. F45 was available on 97 - 2002 C5's. F55 was introduced in place of the F45 beginning in model year 2003 and the switch is ONLY 2 positions.
Google that upgrade kit and you should find the kit which includes the shocks for less $$$ than if you just purchase the F55 shocks. Seems strange but it is a fact........
What I was looking at was PN 12499507
Is this the upgrade kit? What about the 3 position switch?
