What's up everyone. I've recently done a mod to my C5 that I've been wanting to do every since I purchased the car, so without further to do here it is:
Double din stereo! I decided it was time to finally upgrade from the dated stock stereo so I ordered the Metra DP-3021B double din bezel kit from eBay as well as the Pioneer SPH-DA120 (i chose this deck solely because of its capacitive touchscreen but it is a very good unit) when I received the bezel, I took it to my painter to have him paint it to match the exterior of the car, after that I had a local audio store install it, the fit is pretty much perfect and I'm happy with the overall outcome, only thing is....now I have to go all out and mod the entire interior lol.
Let me know what you think.
P.S. I know The deck is slightly crooked and the cords are hanging out on the pass. side. The store was closing so the guy didn't have the time to perfect everything, I'll be going back soon to get those things corrected as well as have my 12" sub I just recieved in the mail installed.
Thanks for the compliments guy's, a double din is a MUST in C5's. Gives it a much more modern look to compliment the already modern looking exterior of the car. I think my next interior mod is gonna be blue Corbeau A4 seats.
Looks great! How do you like the Pioneer stereo so far? I was just looking at some similar stereos (Pioneer & Kenwood) on Crutchfield earlier. How much was the Metra double din on E-bay?

I'm loving it so far, it's very high tech and has a lot of features that come in brand new cars, I highly recommend it. As for prices, the Metra bezel cost $237.77 and the Pioneer double din cost $363.98 brand new and with a warranty (which is a steal because last time I checked, they were around $500 in stores. Good luck with your search
NICE !!!! It was also a mod I wanted badly !!!! Went with a package deal thru DD Mods, trouble is with a Kenwood, I hate it, love Pioneer much more !!!! (will switch soon) !!!!

DD mods has some nice packages, I can't speak for Kenwood but in my experience with this Pioneer unit, Pioneer is the way to go. Good luck finding a double din that you like

The harness I went with is the "PAC ROEM-VET1" you'll be able to find it on eBay just by typing that in
Your painter did a very nice job matching the exterior color.
The Corbeau A4 seats are very nice looking seats, too. A suggestion - if you haven't already, you may want to double check that the blue of the seat goes with the blue of your console. I speak from experience from using different manufacturers and getting colors that were too close together and they ended up not working.
Saw your Pioneer has phone capability. Did you also put in a back up camera?

I've seen pictures of the blue a4 seats. Judging by the pictures they'll be very close to matching but probably just a tiny bit off, not enough to bother me, I really just need to get rid of the stock seats they're completely worn out. (especially the drivers side) as for the back up camera, no I didn't install one, the place that did the install had some in stock that came mounted on a license plate frame, they were pretty nice and blended in well, I'm contemplating getting one later down the line.
