Default Do I have too?

I want to remove real faint swirl marks from artic white paint. My car shines now and has no oxidation. Only when the sun hits it a certain way you can see the swirl marks. Wife thinks I'm nuts.

Must I compound, use SwirlX and then wax? I was hoping to wash and do two today, but not three. What would you do?

You will need a machine and pads to polish out those swirl marks....

Look up vendors and their products in this section for any questions....

White is a very forgiving color and the easiest to keep looking good....

...or check out a good detail shop and get an estimate.

A good polish by hand or machine will help over time. I don't like using wax on any color especially on white

I've got the polisher and pads. My wife's car was the practice last week. Car came out great, I used SwirlX and wax. Her car is candy apple red. It really pops.

But if you look closely on an angle you can see water spots at a few places.

Still not sure if I need to compound and SwirlX. I've got the stuff.

What do you use if you don't "wax"it?

I use Zanio, Z2 is the finish product. Z5 for swill and light scratches. Fusion for heavy marks. I relate these three to fine, medium, course sand paper. If you put a drop of these on you finger you will fell the different grit. These will move the clear too remove the marks and scratches. The Z5 will do what you are looking for over time. I rotate between the Z2 & the Z5 when I polish my car.

^ Zaino.

I Zaino'd a friends black Mustang GT that had severe swirl marks in the paint, and it looked like a mirror when I was finished. Caveat being it took a full weekend to do it. But well worth it.

I ended up using Meguiars Swixl X and Meguiars NXT 2.0 on my artic white vette because I have it. I'll post pictures tomorrow afternoon. Still got to work on the wheels and interior. I may have enough to do my pearl white DD. Notice a pattern here.

But I do need to get something to put on before winter. I'll compare Zaino and Adams. Anybody have any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks for the suggestions.

57gman, there are more opinions and recommendations than Carter has pills. Both products you mention are great. I suggest you claybar before you do any polishing.

I thought I kept a clean car and was surprised at the amount of contaminants the clay removed.

The other additional point which people new to claybar don't know is that it makes whatever polish/compound paint correction you do more effective and the overall job much shinier.

I always start a polish job with a wash and a clay bar, then if there are any swirl marks still remaining I will start with the finest polish and work my way to the more course stuff if needed.

griots products are water based so any residue cleans off easily, I only use spray waxes and let the real work be done by the polishing glazes.

i use the meguiars products and they work great for me
