Default 700,000k miles!

Ran across this and thought you guys might enjoy it. Forgive me if it's already been posted.

I'm looking for my next project. Articles like this convince me to make it a C5!

I find older/high mileage vehicles very interesting. It takes a lot of love to keep something going that long.

That's an average of 115 miles every day for the past 17 years. What is this guy doing?

I would have hired people I trusted so I did not have to drive to the business in the other state every day. That had to cost a fortune in tires alone.

One well engineered car. That is something I think we can all agree on!

Anyone know if he just followed the OEM maintenance schedule and parts/fluids, or did he do anything special/different?

Probably kept it stock and just did regular maintenance and had the luck of whomever built that motor that day was in a great mood

At my 02's current rate of mileage per year, it will take me 312 years to get to 749,000 miles.

That is deisel truck territory. Not many cars last like that. But cars that are driven a lot every day will go way more than the ones that sit. Time is as hard on them as the miles are.

Hey - at your average of 1,000 miles/year, you only need 680 more years! (Of course think how many more miles he'll have by then).
Seriously, though, it is amazing to have that many miles on his car. Says something about the potential durability of the LS engine family.

I have 78,000 miles on my 2000, and everything seems to be breaking at once. Wonder how much he paid in maintenance.
