I’ve been debating on purchasing a Quick Jack for some time now. Last week I said I’ve had enough of messing around with my floor jack and using 2x4’s under the tires to get the clearance I need to get my floor jack under my lowered Z so I ordered one. Got the 3,500lb unit and put it to use right away.
I can’t say enough great things about it. Well worth the money in my opinion.
Jack stands for piece of mind while I detail the bottom of my car!
This is a fantastic post with the pics. I was just looking at one of these the other day. I especially like the new safety-catch feature. While I have the space in my shop for a full-blown BendPac, I don't know if I want that monstrosity in there. Plus, with the two-post lift, it would be tough to get in and out of the car. A couple of questions...
1. When not in use, have you figured out what to do with it? Is there enough clearance under the car to just push them together and drive your car over them, leaving them on the floor for storage?
2. You didn't show any pics before you lifted the car. Is there enough floor to lifting puck clearance to just slide the lift between the tires?
3. What was your price, all in? Shipping, hydrolic fluids and whatnot, too.
I saw this on display at Carlisle. I've got to get one. Is using the jackstands too your idea or do they recommend this when leaving the car on the lift for a long period of time? Lastly, I see you are using a K&N oil filter and you say your car is lowered. I tried one once on my lowered Z. When I removed it at oil change time it had scrapes on the nut. I'll never use one again.

You could push them together and and center them under the car (collapsed height of only 3") but I don't want to risk running them over when backing into the garage. I will put them at the back of my garage, behind my Z06, when not in use.

My car was up on jack stands when I received the Quick Jack because I currently don't have rims/tires for my Z. I sold my Forgestar wheels several weeks back and ordered a set of Forgeline wheels. I should have them in a couple weeks (I hope...) Anyway, my Craftsman jack has a collapsed height of roughly 3-3/4" and the Quick Jack has a collapsed height of 3-1/2" with the short rubber lifting pads. Sliding them under the car to raise it will not be an issue.

Total price was $999.00 w/free 3 day shipping to my door via FedEx. plus, 3 qts. of Dexron III fluid was $21.00
thanks,

Only my Z06 is parked in there and it is driven on nice days so I have no need to worry about road grime, oil, gravel etc... being dropped onto the carpet.

I put the jack stands underneath the car while I was cleaning the underside. BendPak/Ranger/Quick Jack state that the car is more than safe enough on the lift alone; especially when in the "locked" position. However, for piece of mind I'm using the J/S's only while I'm under the Z. The mfg states the 3,500 lb vehicle can stay in the up and locked position indefinitely if you so choose to leave it like that (less jackstands too!)

I have a set of these. I got them after a friend of mine with a C5 showed me his and with as much tinkering as I do with not only my Z06, but my Silverado and my girlfriend's car, it's worth its weight in gold. I ditched the hockey pucks and just put permanent pucks because I use the living HELL out of my Quik Jack.
A previous owner of my car put those aluminum guard rails, so I had to grind them down to fit the pucks.
I opted for the 5000 instead of the 3500, so that I could lift my truck as well. I knew I'd use it on more than the Vette.
It makes EVERYTHING so much easier. Cleaning and detailing, removing tires, changing brake pads, even inspecting em. Inspecting tires, oil changes... I swapped my sway bar and it took a total of 15 minutes because I didn't have to spend 10 minutes getting it on 4 jack stands... I don't have to break my back to line up a jack, get it up and then lower it onto a jackstand. Hell, I don't even use jackstands. I'll lift it and keep it in the air for 2 weeks at a time while I wait for the next autocross. I can cram in my garage more on the other side since I don't really need to be able to access a jack point. All I have to do is go grab the handle and pull it towards that side of the car.
When it's parked and not in use I just shove them to the center of the car and leave them there.
Wow, thanks for the post. I've been thinking about getting this for a few months. I've gotten back into working on my vette again, and have another car that needs a few things.
Regarding the post about carpets: I have old carpets in my garage. I'm too big for a creeper, and creepers take up too much height, anyway. Carpets are nice to move around on when you're under the car.
does it lift high enough to do an exhaust removal and install?
I've read that you need 24" or so to do a header install, and I believe these lift a vette up to about 21" depending on which rubber blocks you use (you don't lift at the frame, you use rubber blocks inside the frames for the contact points).
But you can get other mounts that actually lift it even higher. They're basically like an extended puck that you use for lifting trucks. You can get an extra 6" out of the height if you lift the car, put it on some jack stands or wheel chucks, lower the jack and put the SUV/Truck adapters in and then lift it again. I'm actually planning on purchasing these truck adapters because I can get my Silverado off the ground, but the rear only goes up about an inch once the suspension is done unflexing and stretching out.
Imho, as one of the others mentioned, it might be a better option to pay a bit more for the 5,000 lbs unit for a little more headroom and flexlibility. I know the OP is already committed, but for those contemplating the QJ.
