Is the shift boot a must? I wouldn’t take mine out for the one they supply. More importantly, does it accommodate a 9/16” shaft?

I think the boot is separate.

I bought a boot for the C6 shifter in a C5 as the C5 boot hole was too small.

I had slit the oem C5 boot an inch at the shaft and wrapped electrical tape around it.

The boot is integrated. I didn't see an option to not get one. You can always cut it off I guess

Ok it does come with it but I don't find the boot offensive

I don't see what's not to like.

Same, just got a e-mail showing it's shipped. I imagine it will be awhile before I get it since it's coming from Germany.

Anyone else having trouble checking out from the website? It keeps saying alias needed. I tried Chrome, Edge, and Internet Explorer.

I had problems with that too. I just went ahead and created a log in and then everything worked fine.

When I checked out the first time, my credit card company declined the purchase and called me to verify that it wasn't a fraudulent transaction since its based overseas.

After I confirmed with them that it was me making the purchase, it went through normally.

I didn't try using the paypal option on their site, it may be smoother.

Thanks, creating an account solved the issue. Though, it wasn't straightforward to figure out how to create an account. Also, account security is basically nonexistent (they email the password you put in to you!), so definitely use a throwaway password.

Well then if you want it you may have to Mod it.

Maybe shorten up the boot it comes with unless you want to keep yours.

Wait until next week and I'll post some pics
of the **** and boot and how they go together.

^ any hot wire would work. I connected mine specifically to the turn on with the parking/headlights via the climate control orange wire (I think).

if you wanted it always on just tap it into a radio power wire.
