Default Question on a C5 dash

On a C 5 dash 99 vette next to the ignition there is a grilled plate. What is this plate for and what is behind it? So far my dealers don't know.

Air Temp. Sensor that works in conjunction with the climate control.

Hope there isn’t too much you have to fix on the car. This forum though has a lot of knowledgeable people that you can tap into for answers.

There's also a screw in there if you want to take the radio bezel out.

I agree with that. The dealer doesn't know? How pathetic, and they work on cars.

Plus the C5 is two generations behind. There's a high likelihood that even the dealers with trained Corvette techs haven't even touched a C5
