Car drives normal. Service trac/ trac control lights on dash were biggest pain. Ordered brand new in box ebcm waiting to arrive this week. Then i will send my original out to be upgraded as spare.
As long as you don't need an emergency stop or need the active handling there's no issue.
My 01z has a quirk where the code comes on because of a left front signal. I've replaced the hub, the pigtail harness that goes from the hub to the main harness, and also had the EBCM rebuilt. When the code pops up I reset it on the dash while driving and usually it stays away. Always nice to have it working at all times.
Without ABS you have to remember the front and/or rear brakes will lock up under a panic stop. If you have never driven cars without ABS it can be an alarming experience. Active Handling is good for the driver who is not experienced in high speed or aggressive maneuvers. When autocrossing or HPDE you will turn AH off for best performance. When driving in adverse conditions, the AH can be a life saver, rain, snow, etc are conditions when it is greatly appreciated.
I still need to get around to fixing mine. I think you learn a lot about the true nature of the car without the ABS or AH. You can really learn a lot about the braking limits, where the limit seems to be a bit more of a grey area with ABS on. You can also learn a lot about which tires like to lock up first in certain braking situations. That said, you will pretty much always get faster lap times with ABS driven properly, but you will be slightly more aware of what's happening and how to react if you've driven it without ABS IMO. It's an interesting experience nonetheless.
