I've done some research but haven't found an answer. My 99's oil pressure is all of a sudden reading higher than normal. It used to read around 40 psi at idle and cruise but now it's hanging around 70 psi. It even goes higher under throttle. It can drop to like 65 psi too. In my research, it seems like when the pressure sender goes bad, it most likely pegs out and just sometimes goes to zero. Well mine is doing neither, just reads 25-30 psi high. In your opinion, what could be going on?
It's a supercharged 6-speed with about 95K miles on her.
Unless someone has added a little saw dust or other coagulating substance to your oil I would expect the OPS is getting ready to go south for the winter. JMHO
Mine did the same exact thing a couple of months ago. Quick test to confirm is turn the key to on/acc, do not start. Now look at your oil pressure, either one, analog or DIC. If it's not at zero, OPS is bad. Mine read 42 when I tested my Vert.

Mine did exactly the same thing a couple of months back ('99 Coupe). Two routes for changing it - either dismantle all the intake and so on (looked like a tough job to me, far more chance of stripping something and then tears before bedtime), or remove the the trim under the windscreen that the wipers poke through, make a neat 'inspection hatch', remove the OPS, then tape up the hole and replace the trim. I did the easy way, and nobody would even know I'd been there since the trim covers everything up nicely.

Thanks, yep, mine reads 23 psi without the car started.
