Hi folks new to the forum and corvette ownership. Here's the problem:
Car: 1999 C5 165k miles.
After some headlight lifting and closing issues on the right side both actuator arms disconnected from both side. the housing unit and were just flopping when the wind gets under it.
Fuses are intact. Lights work. No noise or movement in either motor when the switch is turned on.
Is it common to have a bilateral failure like this?
Comments and suggestions needed.
Nope! Very simple mechanics with these headlight doors. Most probable an easy fix. There is a pin that connects door to actuator assembly ...sounds like they slipped out or the nut that holds assembly to actuator fell off, issues are probable because gears were replaced in actuators in the past and lock tight was not used. There is a ot of vibration in headlight assembly while driving. Strange both would fail simultaneously?? Anyone else with ideas.
