I am looking for someone with experience installing race seats in a C5 Corvette. I am looking at putting full containment aluminum race seats like Kirkey or Ultrashield. I currently have Corbeau A4 seats but I am looking for more lateral support and head containment for track days. The car is very close to being converted to a dedicated track car for Spec Corvette. Only thing missing really is the cage.
My question is: What is the maximum width seat that will fit in the seat well? Will a 17" aluminum seat fit? Can an 18" wedge in there?

You should really post this in the road racing subforum.
The Corbeau EvoX, which is designed for use in the C5's tight interior, is 20.5" at the thigh bolsters and 19.5" at the hip/lumbar bolsters. So, Kirkey's 18" 47-series seat is smaller (19.5" at the thigh and 18" at the hip https://www.kirkeyracing.com/related...op-drawing.jpg)
If it's going to be a dedicated track car with a gutted interior, you'll have a lot more room since the carpet, interior plastics, and seat belts will be gone.
