Default Radiator deflector wheels

Why do our cars have these supermarket cart wheels at either side ot the radiator plastic deflector? 🤔
Can't fathom why they'd be needed.

I'm pretty sure it's to lift the front of the car when hitting bumps/speed bumps, to help prevent scrapes.

Well it might just protect the oil pan etc, as the bumper, plastic deflector and even the brackets holding these damn funny looking wheels are all scraped. 😂

if you had my driveway... you'd know. My neighbors all cringe when I back out into the street. The Fat Daddy's make the most horrendous scraping sound as I back down the driveway... but they preserve my core support & bumper cover... it's still pristine!
