Painting my calipers red today and wanted a suggestion on which white paint to use for the "Corvette" wording. Should I be looking for a small can of white caliper paint or will a can of hi-temp paint be sufficient?
Thanks!

Most of us use a razor blade to actually scrape off the paint on the letters, leaving them raw metal. I also taped off around the letters and used a curved sanding block to get what the razor blade didn't. They turned out really well. I know this doesn't answer your question specifically but good luck!

Those look great! I'll be using that method. Thanks for the tip!
Just make sure you clean and prep them correctly. Otherwise when you paint them they turn black from heat over time.
I did mine in april and I must have not cleaned/prepped them fully them right. I also do drive a lot as the heat caused the red to turn black. Its not brake dust as it doesn't wash off.
All my other cars I used high heat primer, high heat paint, High heat clear coat. The looked nice for years. These Ill have to redo next year.
The letters on mine look silver - but Im assuming since they look exactly like seefivedave's that this was the same method.
(man I really need to paint that outer caliper bracket)
Been around 10 yrs since I painted mine and they still look perty good, no discoloration.. a few small nicks in the paint from wear but nothing noticeable from more than a few feet away, not bad enough to hassle with.. I masked everything off with newspapers and tape, except for the calipers and pad brackets, and left them installed.. used some kinda high temp red paint I’m sure I read about on here at the time lol.. instead of scraping the paint off the lettering, I took a small brush and very carefully painted them black (the car is black)

I simply disconnected my calipers from the brackets but did not take the brake lines loose. Painted mine with Folia Tec calipermpaint eight years ago and they still look like new. As others have said, cleaning the calipers is the key before painting them.
seefiedave those look nice. did you paint those in place?
the boss asked me why mine werent red......and you think they dont notice things
Thanks! I did disconnect the calipers, clean then really good, covered everything behind and underneath and sort of set them atop the rotor and sprayed them. I did remove the caliper brackets fully, hung them and sprayed. A fun project that makes a big difference.
Are the caliper brackets hard to get off? I really need to paint mine BAAAAADDD...
Mine weren't too bad. The bolts should be torqued to 125 ft lbs so you'll need a break over bar to break them loose. I used a two foot torque wrench to reinstall to spec. I actually had to get parallel with the car and use my foot to break em loose and reinstall to correct torque.

I used an emory board (finger nail file) to scrape across the "CORVETTE" lettering after I painted them. Wait until they dry completely before doing this. You can put a thin layer of wax over the bare letters to protect them.
I painted my calipers on the car. Very easy to do. Just make sure they'r super clean, you mask everything, and be very patient with paint process. I jacked the car completely in the air and did all four at once.
I used chaptik on my letters then just painted the whole caliper. Wait for the paint to dry then wipe the red off the letters because the chapstik prevented it from sticking.
